I have tried all the methods, including disabling fast startup, uninstalling, and updating the Intel management driver, etc. I tried resetting the PC from Device Care, and I also called a Samsung technician. He said there are no hardware issues. It has something to do with the BIOS. He tried updating the BIOS, but my laptop already has the latest BIOS, the March 2026 version. He said he cannot do anything. I have to wait for the next BIOS update. I cannot tell what is wrong. Sometimes the laptop works fine, but suddenly the fan starts moving.

Can it be because I updated my SSD to a 1 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD

BaseBoard Product NP750QHA-LG2IN

Hi, I have samsung galaxybook 5 360. Recently I have updated to windows 26H2 and my fan is starting to behave weirdly. Sometimes it works fine but sometimes it started to run on full speed. Even when I shut down the laptop the kept on moving in full speed. I tried updating the drivers and sound out that two drivers named 'Intel Corporation - Software component- 23.1160.0.1' and ' intel corporation- extension- 23.1160.0.1' was there. I update it. But these two drivers are keep coming back after a while even when I have downloaded it and installed it, specially after everytime I shut down my laptop. I think these two drivers are making my fan behaving abnormal.

Any suggestions and help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

You need to post on Intel forum, Samsung has nothing to do with Intel drivers

I’d separate the two issues for now. The Intel 23.1160.0.1 Software Component and Extension updates do appear to be repeatedly coming back through Windows Update on other Galaxy Book 5 systems as well, so that alone doesn’t necessarily mean they are causing the fan problem.

For the fan running at full speed even after shutdown, I’d first check whether the laptop is actually completing a full shutdown. Try Shift + Shut down from Windows, then see if the fan stops. Also check Samsung Settings/Samsung Device Care for any performance or cooling-related settings and make sure the BIOS and Samsung system drivers are current for the exact Galaxy Book 5 model.

If the fan still stays at full speed after a full shutdown, I’d report that separately to Samsung because that could point to a firmware/EC or hardware issue rather than just an Intel driver.

If you can post the exact Galaxy Book 5 model number and Windows 11 build, it would be easier to check the correct Samsung driver package.

The recurring Intel updates alone don’t confirm the cause. Try to identify whether this is a Samsung hardware/firmware issue, a Windows update issue, or an Intel driver issue, then contact the relevant official support team. Since the fan continues running after shutdown, Samsung support would be a sensible first contact to help diagnose it and direct you to Microsoft or Intel if needed.
