The software update option is missing from the settings menu on my s24 plus. Also, when I tap on Security update nothing happens. The Google play system update works but that's about it. If someone knows how to fix this I would appreciate it. Thanks!

System apps. I could have sworn it wasn't there before.

I tried to cut and paste the AI answer I got from gemini. Unfortunately it wouldn't paste the whole thing. It gave a very comprehensive three-part answer to what could be your trouble. Go to Gemini and use the prompt I did. "Why is the software update option missing in my settings menu in my Galaxy s24."

@TonyFresh How long have you had this S24 Plus? Was it working before?

If you just got this thing and have never seen Software update in the menu, you probably have a clone or compromised device.

Not a compromised device. It's a factory unlocked model. I've had it a few weeks.

Where did you get the phone? Have you ever seen Software Update available?

Try going to settings, Device Care and see if software update is listed there. 1791733536197.jpg

Do you have a physical SIM or eSIM?
If you have a physical SIM remove the SIM, restart your phone and put SIM backin to try to force a reprovisioning from your carrier. If eSIM, toggle off, restart toggle back on.

Also try, go to settings, and type in the search box, software update to see if it shows up that way.
