Can anyone tell me how to replace the microphone icon on Gboard after update? I hate switching from google voice to keyboard when fixing mistaken words google voice types. I may as well just type if I have to keep switching back and forth. Every update takes away the microphone.

I don't know why an update would take away G-Board's microphone, it never has for me.  It does appear that G-Board had a recent update of its own.  However, putting it back should be a simple matter.  Just bring up the keyboard and tap the icon with the four squares then hit the edit pencil on the bottom right and drag the microphone (voice) back to it's desired position.  If Google Voice is not accurately transcribing your words, Google is the entity you have to contact about that.  Are you sure you are using the Google voice engine and not the Samsung voice engine?  Google voice is the more accurate of the two.

If the microphone disappeared from Gboard after the update, first tap the three dots / More button on the Gboard toolbar. The microphone may still be available there. If you see it, press and hold the microphone icon and drag it back onto the main toolbar.

There was a similar issue reported on a Galaxy A9+ tablet after an update, and moving the mic back from the Gboard More menu fixed it.

If the mic isn't there at all, check Gboard Settings > Voice typing and make sure Use voice typing is enabled, then check Settings > Apps > Gboard > Permissions > Microphone and make sure microphone access is allowed.

The exact tablet model and One UI/Android version would also help, since Samsung's keyboard options can vary by device and software version.

Yeah, that’s pretty annoying. On Gboard, the microphone can disappear after an update if the voice typing setting or keyboard layout gets changed. I’d check Gboard Settings → Preferences and make sure the Show voice input key option is enabled. If it’s already on, try switching Gboard off and back on as your default keyboard, or clear its cache. Updates can sometimes reset these settings, so you may have to turn the mic button back on manually.

I had a similar issue after an update. You may want to check Gboard settings under Settings → General management → Samsung Keyboard settings / Gboard → Voice typing and make sure microphone access is enabled. Also check the app permissions for Gboard, as an update can sometimes change those settings.

I use voice typing quite a bit when searching for things on my tablet, especially when browsing recipes and restaurant information. Hopefully checking the Gboard permissions brings the microphone option back for you.
