All transition animations are slow. Even the suggested words in the keyboard. Switching apps or changing from portrait to landscape. It like they been slowed from a factor of 50
You could try going to settings, about phone, software information, then tap build number until developer mode pops at the bottoms of the original settings menu. Then scroll till you get to a section called drawing. There's three options there called window animation, transition animation, and animator duration scale.
I have all mine set to .5x and its pretty snappy, but you can change it to fit your desired speeds.
